China’s International Workshop on Green Freight Technology Assessment

On November 15-16, 2017, the ICCT co-organized the International Workshop on Green Freight Technology Assessment with Research Institute of Highway, Ministry of Transportation (MoT) and other NGOs. The workshop was hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Transportation (MoT) and US EPA, intending to provide an in-depth overview of US EPA’s SmartWay and green technology verification program.

Advancing Green Freight in Bangladesh: A Background Paper

This study was developed by Clean Air Asia with the support of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, to contribute to the knowledge on the state and issues related to the freight sector in Bangladesh and more importantly, to provide insights on the opportunities for advancing green freight in the country. Freight growth in Bangladesh is outpacing its economic growth. In a business as usual scenario the freight motorization levels and activity levels are set to increase rapidly even with a small increase in GDP, impacting emissions and health significantly.

Provides an introductory overview of road freight issues in Asia with an emphasis on environmental impacts. It also identifies challenges and opportunities to reduce emissions and improve efficiency in this sector.
